BC regulations

What is the IELTS test review procedure?

The IELTS test review procedure basically includes:

• Time to request review: You must submit your appeal within 6 weeks of the test date shown on the Test Report Form (TRF).
• Prepare the request: Fill in the appeal form. You can do this through the test center's online system or by paper form.
• Application and fees: Submit a request for review and pay the review fee. If your score changes after the review, you will be refunded the fee.
• Waiting for results: The results of the review will be available within 2 to 21 days of submitting the application. If there is a change in your score, you will receive a new Official Transcript.

Things to note when reviewing IELTS test scores

During the review process, you need to note:

• The requested exam will be sent to the exam board in Australia or the UK depending on where you registered for the exam.
• The examiner will re-evaluate your test without knowing your previous score.
• If the score changes after the review, the review fee will be refunded.
• The review process will take approximately 3 – 8 weeks for paper-based tests and approximately 2 – 3 weeks for computer-based tests.
• Your original certificate will be collected during the review process. After the review is complete, the certificate will be renewed and reissued if there is a change in the score. In case the score remains unchanged, the board will return the original certificate.
• For the speaking skill part, the examiners will listen to the answers through a recording, and for the other skills, the examiners will mark them on the answer sheet.
