- A character in your favorite book
- A person you are happy to know
Example:
I think I'm lucky enough to know many hospitable people who are really supportive whenever I get into trouble. But the one that I admire most is my classmate – Hau – who is one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met in my life.
Appearance-wise, she is a pretty girl with long hair and a bright smile. Also, she is such an outgoing girl that you can find it easy to come and talk to her even if you have just met her for the first time.
Apart from school, she is a dedicated volunteer whose life motto is “helping is receiving”. She has taken part in many local volunteer projects to help underprivileged children and old people living alone at weekends. In addition, she has even joined some fundraising campaigns to donate money for preservation of ancient historical sites. Also, she is a voluntary individual who participates in some educational projects in which she teaches basic math and languages for orphans.
She was the one who helped me when I first went to the university. At that time, I was quite reserved and struggling to make friends because they are so talented and energetic. Hau approached me and guided me to make friends with others, which really touched me.
I remember one time when I got depressed after failing my math exam, she was the one who lingered after class to walk me through all the problems I had and made me confident enough to do better next time.
I'm bowled over by her efforts to give value to the community, and I also adore her for the dedication she has in all things she does to others around.
(Pandemic:
I consider myself lucky to have open-minded and friendly friends who can help me when I am in trouble. But the person I admire the most is my classmate – Hau – one of the warmest people I have ever met.

Apart from her studies, she is also a dedicated volunteer with the motto: “Giving is receiving”. She has participated in many volunteer projects to help the elderly and homeless children on weekends. Topic: Describe an object
- A wild animal
- A painting/ a work of art
- Your grandparents' jobs
- An ideal job you would like to do
- A well – paid job you would like to do
Example:
I actually look up to my grandparent, since they are able to stay calm no matter what happens. And I believe that awesome attitude towards life they have roots from the job as teachers that they have.
They've been devoting their whole life to teaching. While my grandfather was a math teacher, my grandmother started her career in literature. They not only share their passion for teaching, but also fell head over heels for each other because they work at the same school.
To be honest, it must be really challenging if you are a student of them. They are really strict and they expect their students to try their best toward goals. The main purpose and techniques of their pedagogic philosophy are not flying colors in classes and good show in lessons, but more about the development of personalities and morality.
I have met some of my grandparents' students at the Lunar New Year festivals and Teachers' Day, they are enthusiastic. And they told me they were proud to have my grandparents as teachers, and also said that they could not become that successful without the years of studying with my grandparents.
I, myself, also take pride in the achievements that my grandparents had, and feel so lucky to be their grandchild.

Topic: Describe a place
- A building
- A place full of color
Example:
My favorite skyscraper in Hanoi is the Lotte Center, which is located in the heart of Hanoi. It consists of a shopping mall, apartments, and an office complex. Since Lotte is one of the tallest buildings in the city, it is visible from kilometers away. In fact, when biking around the West Lake, I often use it as the pinpoint mark to indicate my way home.
The best part of the building in my opinion is the department store, which is also highly popular among both locals and foreigners. It carries numerous fashion brands that vary in style and price, so I absolutely love shopping for new clothes here. I tend to buy beauty and cosmetic products at Lotte because of their high quality as well.
Furthermore, I used to work as a sales associate at a store inside Lotte during my summer vacation a few years ago. I had a lot of fun memories with my co-workers here. That was also one of my very first working experiences so this building does hold a special place in my heart.

Example:
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a colleague's wedding, which took place last week. The wedding ceremony was held at a beautiful venue in the heart of the city. The whole atmosphere was filled with love, joy, and excitement.
People were truly happy and delighted to witness the union of two souls. Friends and family members were dressed in their finest attire, adding to the elegance of the event. The wedding hall was decorated with exquisite decorations, flowers, and soft lighting, creating a romantic ambience.
I attended the wedding to show support and celebrate this special mark in my colleague's life. We had developed a strong bond of friendship and worked closely together, so being present on such an important day meant a lot to me. It was a chance to express my well wishes, share in their happiness, and strengthen our professional relationship.
The event was a beautiful celebration filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments. It reminded me of the power of love and the importance of celebrating milestones with loved ones.
