Coming to eTest, I participated in the SAT prep course and I was very impressed with the friendliness and commitment of the teachers here. They have helped me a lot in developing my listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as mathematical skills for the SAT. Furthermore, I also get to learn about the society at eTest. This year, I was asked to be a tutor, and I get to mentor younger students and to help them improve their English skills in order for them to attain higher scores in the TOEFL or IELTS

There is no doubt that eTest plays a big role in my college journey, which I considered a relatively successful one, thanks to Ms. Trâm, Ms. Lam, and the wonderful academic counselors here. As we always say at the academy, eTest is where students “eat and sleep” throughout their college application process. This is where I have spent hundreds of hours making deadlines, but also the first place I go to upon receiving my college decisions.
I still remember the first time Ms. Trâm read my first-draft. She said:” Why is your essay so gloomy?” That comment, as uncomplicated as it can get, left me dumbfounded in the way she said it so plainly and so straightforward. I thought of my English classes in the States – my writings were always oriented towards the gloominess of things, whether that was a poem, a letter, or a story,…I was sure that melancholy was the easiest way a piece of writing leaves someone with some kind of a memorable impression. I had always been praised by my teachers, and no one pointed my “pattern” out until Ms.Trâm, who always emphasized the “inspiring” component of the essay. It can be said that that first impression best summarizes my experience working with Ms.Trâm – a (unforeseen) journey into constant examination and evaluation of the self, the result of which is a deeper understanding about myself and an essay that can be considered relatively (lively) and thought-provoking. Besides Ms. Trâm, Ms. Lam is also incredibly helpful in helping me complete the convoluted process of applying to college. Being extremely busy herself, she took the time to check my application in great details multiple times to make sure that there was no error. Even after the process had ended, she is still one of the mentors that I trust and consult the most.
