Task 1: The diagrams below describe how to recycle organic waste to produce fertilizer (compost). Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The process below shows the procedure needed for transforming plant and animal-based waste into fertilizer which could be then used for farming. Overall, there are five steps: from the beginning with an empty plastic vessel to a final compost product.
As mentioned above, the first step is to acquire an empty container in which to begin a chemical reaction of turning waste into mulch. Next, the container is filled with discarded newspapers, grass clippings, and food scraps to a level of nearly one third. After that, nitrogen and hot water are added to the mix in order to initiate the transformation from useless waste, to a useful and fertile substance. The top of the container is then covered and left in the heat for up to six months. The result is a batch of organic compost that could be taken out for growing fruits and vegetables in the home garden.
